Mobile App and Location Information
The Apex Nova Way mobile app is intended for our employees, drivers, warehouse personnel and other authorized users. Location is collected only by the mobile app, only from users working as drivers, and only while they are clocked in. Users of other roles, such as warehouse receiving, are never asked for location.
Location tracking starts when the driver clocks in, which happens with the driver's first action on an assigned route leg (for example, marking arrival, taking a photo, or scanning). While the driver is clocked in, the app collects location in the background, even when the app is closed or not in use, and the device shows its location indicator.
Tracking stops when the driver starts a break or clocks out in the app, or when a dispatcher clocks the driver out. No location is collected while the driver is on a break or clocked out.
Location is used to record working time, show the driver's position and route to our dispatchers, and verify pickups and deliveries. It is available only to authorized personnel, such as dispatchers, supervisors and administrators, and to technology providers that operate the system on our behalf. We do not sell location information or use it for advertising.
Before requesting access, the app explains why location is needed. Users can change or revoke location permission at any time in the device settings; the time clock and route tracking will then not work.
Location records collected during a shift may be retained, as described in Data Retention, for working time records, operational records, compliance and dispute resolution.
